February ~ It's that time again.

I've been gone awhile. I've been busy traveling back and forth to Austin, to see my FIL who has been in ICU on and off for a few months now (and now in a private room). He has been having Dialysis for about 6 times now. Apparently, his kidneys are not working properly, but are healthy otherwise. So, he is going into Rehabilitation next week. Hopefully his kidneys will decide to work as they are supposed to!

A funny that happened the other day, I was making Chalupas for dinner and I thought I'd brown the tortillas just before putting all the stuffings on and putting it back in the oven to melt the cheese. My DH said you don't need to do that. I gave him the look ~ who's cooking, me or you? He shut up. So I put the tortillas in to brown, walked away to do something else and all of a sudden DH says is something burning? OMG!!! I had forgotten to watch the tortillas! Needless to say, they were black, the kitchen was smelly and foggy, and the air vent wasn't enough. So, both of us were laughing belly laughs, while DH opened the back door, and pulled a fan to blow the air out. :( -------- DANG! I hate it when he's right!!! Thank goodness I had more tortillas!

So, as I have mentioned before, February 18th will be the 3rd anniversary that my son passed away. And, his birthday is February 24th, and DH's birthday is February 27th, and our daughter, "The Teacher", will be coming home on February 27th. A busy month and a sad month. Yes we are trying to celebrate Jeffrey's life, but his passing is still too fresh, so we are trying very hard to be in control, and enjoy all of the stories that everyone will have to share.
Each year since he passed, on his birthday, I've been having a "Celebration of Jeph". Since his birthday falls on a Tuesday this month, we will have the celebration on the following Saturday. I invite all of his friends (that I know of) and have food, drinks, and a birthday cake. Farmer'sWife (the arts and crafts Pro) and I have been putting our heads together to prepare the invitations for this celebration. I'm not even finished yet, but hope to get them out this week. You should see the invitations. They are so cool! Though, I still have to finish them. I'll get a picture on here as soon as I can.
I also plan to go to the creek where he was alone when his soul left his body, and throw flowers in the water, and replace the cross with fresh silk flowers.
So, I'll be busy this month. I haven't really had a chance to catch up on any of the blogs, but when all this is over, I will be back. Hope everyone is healthy and happy.
