Local Cable & Network Fight!

Our small town local Cable Company and the Main Network Channels (ABC, CBS & NBC) are in a huge fight to get their own way! You see, the Cable Company wants the right to move the main stations where ever they want to in the line up.... That includes, moving the stations to another channel (which we have committed to memory for the last 19 years since we've lived here); and to play around with their shows, moving them where they want to on the schedules! Now, is that RIGHT? NO, I SAY!
So, as of tonight, they have not come to an agreement, and at midnight on April 1st (April Fools day - good one!) at midnight, we loose all 3 network stations. AAGGGHHH....... My soaps are on those channels! My favorite sit-coms are on those channels!!
I suppose I'll have to rely on the computer for my shows, to see if they will run their show on the Internet for us. Man, I would be ok if was an April Fools joke, really! I'll keep my fingers crossed!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I got to go see Lil Gal at gymnastics. I hadn't gone in a while, and really missed it. She has really learned a lot, and has improved so much!! She is soooo cute hopping and twirling on those bars! Riding in the truck to pick up the children from school to gymnastics, then to the grocery store, then home, reminded me of how energetic they are, with such strong lungs! And, of course, how much fun we had in the truck traveling to each destination. Even tho they may have needed to be given a talk to for something, I had to stifle a laugh cuz they were just so cute! But, I couldn't let them see me laugh and undo mom's perfect discipline record. :) It reminded me of my children when they were little. Has it really been that long? Yes it has. Sigh.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My honey hogged the computer tonight. He got off at 10:30 p.m., so now here I am on at 11:45 p.m. Fooey! And, I have to get up early tomorrow! Remember, we have only one vehicle, and If I want it for the day, I have to get up at dark thirty (just like him), to take him to work. Actually, he drives himself to work, and I just try and go back to sleep with my pillow and blanky. Oh, that sounds so childish! Ok, with my pillow and my blanket. Well, it's only a throw blanket, so that's ok, right? It's usually chilly in the mornings.
The problem is (or maybe it's a blessing, cuz it keeps me awake); is that DH just loves to listen to talk show radio, you know a host who takes callers and gives their opinion (at dark thirty in the A.M.) that no one cares about? So, that keeps me awake, cuz they get excited and yell at each other. Now, if it was music, I could probably fall back asleep. But, since it keeps me awake, I am able to drive home, still at dark thirty, on those dark country roads, and you can't see any cops (if I need to keep an eye out for them); cuz, all I wanna do is get back home and catch a nap before daylight and I have to get started. So, I better get off the computer earlier than usual!

Alright, who just LOVES The Bellamy Brothers???!!! They are playing in the background on Pandora, as I blog. Song they're singing is 'Dancing Cowboys'....... "Dancing cowboys, dancing horses, gypsy music, songs about love" such a GREAT DANCING SONG! And, definitely just to sing along with, if there's no dancing space! Woo Hoo.... I just love them!!
OK, now, those who don't like country music are not allowed to be mean or make fun of the lyrics! (Dang, I hope I heard the lyrics right! - Usually, I'm just dancing to them - ok, I DO sing along with them while dancing, BUT, y'all remember what I did with the "Reaper/Reefer" song, right?
Alright, lights out. Hope y'all had a great night. TTYL

Dancing Cowboys, dancing horses (might be prancing? lol), gypsy music, songs about love....

FUN WITH FW AND LIL GAL

Saturday, was my day to play with FW and Lil Gal. Farmer Jr. was out on the tractor with his dad. As usual, I ran my errands, and remembered to bring something for my little ones. Oh, yeah, sometimes I reward the grownups with a treat too! Although, the treat I brought (actually for me & FW), was almost gone by the time I left!
Oh we had a cold night on Friday and was still chilly Saturday morning. So FW made some more CHILE! WHOOPS!
So, we had tons of fun. Once we got all my stuff put away, we sat down to have a snack and a good chat. We had some Boursin (Garlic & Fine Herbs Gournay Cheese (now I thought this read gourmet - but it was spelled this way, so not knowing what that means, I left it that way - hehe), with mini wheat round crackers, with some white wine. Mmmmm.......... It was delicious!
Then we spent the rest of the day still chatting, laughing, playing dolls, and playing on the computer. Then it time for me to go home - almost dark! I hate to drive in the dark. (In my 20s I loved to drive all the time - daylight or night - hmmm... imagine how that changes when you get older.)
So FW packed up some Chili, in glass jars, but this time she carried them out to the truck. And, I carried my bags, but got to the garage door first to go into the garage. GUESS WHAT I DID?!
I TURNED ON THE LIGHT!!
Since I was able to see, I didn't take a nose-dive!! WOOHOO.......!! Lil Gal was right in front of me saying be careful Aunt D, turn on the light. My Sweet Child. :) Yes, Mamma lets me call her that. Whew, a great end to a wonderful day.

Struggling to Fix up My New Page

Well, as y'all can see, I've been struggling with adding new things to my page and learning new stuff! Yeah, I bet y'all thought I knew it all, huh? Had y'all fooled, huh? Wrong!
FW has given me a few tips when I mess something up and some new stuff too!

Like that picture of my son up there, I Don't want it to be that big, but can't figure out how to make it smaller - not too small - but not too big either.
So, I figure I'll stop on that a while to actually BLOG!

I currently got caught up in a couple of FREE TRIAL products. Yeah, I got suckered. I really wanted to try a couple of these items. I AM familiar with these types of things that really end up wanting to charge you a monthly fee (well, it was larger than I thought - and took me by surprise)! Now I'm thinking..... Just why in the heck did I want to try new make-up? - Can't even remember what the other thing is -- HAH! Oh, I'll remember it when I look over the emails again, and start making the calls and returning the products!
Luckily, I have not opened the 2 boxes I got, so now I gotta get that taken care of tomorrow before tomorrow, so I can concentrate on all else I have to do to get ready to leave for my 2 wk trip to Austin to visit with my baby sis who will meet me there from VA.

OH YEAH! Did I tell y'all that I received a Jury summons for Monday, April 6th!! Of all times, just when I'm leaving on a trip!
I used to be so excited to be on a jury, but was not chosen for the longest time! Then I served once. Although, it was a very short one. Like one day. This guy had been arrested for paying a prostitute! (Poor guy, don't know if he even got any.) He was a very small man. Vietnamese I think. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him cuz he spoke very little English and didn't know what was going on. He looked very nervous and continuously looked at his attorney. I wanted to let him go (not that I'm for prostitution - lol); but in the end, all the evidence was very clear. It didn't take us long to announce him guilty. So, that's the only one I've ever been on. It took many years for me to actually be on a jury.

I got called again a few years ago, and was put on the First Chair! That is the last of the peeps the attys will talk to and figure out if they want them or not. Well, one of the attorneys I knew from being co-counsels with the attorney I worked for. So, That was a BIG NIX.
BUT, I get called all the freaking time! I'm so tired of being called, I just don't want to to it any more. I already checked with my Dr. concerning these antidepressants I'm on and the therapy, and asked him if he thought I should go. (secretly wanting him to say No, you certainly don't have to go, here let me write you a letter.)
ARGH.... He said no problem, yes, you can go. POOH!

I do have another Dr. to ask cause of some nerve pills I am on, but now I feel to sheepish to even try him. Another POOH! So, what I will have to do is call them and tell them I have to reschedule since I'm going out of town. UGH. That means I definitely have to go next time they call.

LISTENING TO MUSIC

Listening to music on Blip.FM and making more additions to my Play List. I came across a song by Aretha Franklin: You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman. It reminded me of when Jeffrey was little, he would sing it as: You make me feel like a man you're a woman. Made me laugh!

And, then, to be fair: One day Jeffrey and I were driving together, and a song came on: The Reaper; And, I was singing it as: The Reefer....... Well, Jeffrey laughed out loud and corrected me; so we had a good laugh about that too! Nice memories.

KUDDOS TO THE QUEEN!

Well, if it wasn't for The Queen, I would have never purchased this product. Thanks to her testimony, I tried it. The Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner!
WOW! I was impressed! Ok, it's not "sparkling clean" yet - but well on its way! So many of the stains and scum were "BAM" GONE! (With minor scrubbing from me.)
I was so excited, that I gushed to my DH, Honey - look at the shower! That stuff worked great! Look how clean it is?! DH's response: I don't see no difference. WHAT?! It looks tons clean compared to what it was! DH: I don't see any difference. Come on -- Really? What shower are you looking at?! DH: I just don't see it. Hmmmfffff..... Well, maybe I just won't let him use that shower any more!

A Bit of Irish Humor

(oops, I think I got that previous joke from one of these blogs, sorry to repeat it.)
Best Irish Joke in a long Time !!!

Paddy had been drinking at his local Dublin pub all day and most of the night celebrating St Patrick's Day. Mick, the bartender says, 'You'll not be drinking anymore tonight, Paddy'. Paddy replies, 'OK Mick, I'll be on my way then'. Paddy spins around on his stool and steps off. He falls flat on his face. 'Damn' he says and pulls himself up by the stool and dusts himself off. He takes a step towards the door and falls flat on his face, 'Damn !'
He looks to the doorway and thinks to himself that if he can just get to the door and some fresh air he'll be fine. He belly crawls to the door and shimmies up to the door frame. He sticks his head outside and takes a deep breath of fresh air, feels much better and takes a step out onto the sidewalk and falls flat on his face.
'By'Jeebers.... I'm a little crocked,' he says. He can see his house just a few doors down, and crawls to the door, hauls himself up the door frame, opens the door and shimmies inside. He takes a look up the stairs and says 'No damn' way'. He crawls up the stairs to his bedroom door and says 'I can make it to the bed'. He takes a step into the room and falls flat on his face. He says ' Damn it ' and falls into bed.
The next morning, his wife, Jess, comes into the room carrying a cup of coffee and says, 'Get up Paddy. Did you have a bit to drink last night ?' Paddy says, 'I did, Jess.. I was really crocked. But how'd you know?' 'Mick phoned . . . you left your wheelchair at the pub.

Back from Funeral

If I never go to another funeral again, it will be too soon. My DH & daughter, went to the Rosary on Wednesday night. I declined to pass by the casket and stayed in the pew, far enough back in the middle so I could not see him. I thought I could handle attending the Rosary. Well, I was wrong. I was sobbing, and trying not to, and I forgot the tissues! Man that was bad. I was praying the rosary out loud along with the rest of the peeps, when all of a sudden, my throat closed up - Panic Attack time. Crap!
I rushed out of the church, went outside to get some air and collect myself, then went to the ladies room to get paper towels; or TP (No paper towels). Well, this TP was of the CHEAPEST kind. I pulled and pulled and got scraps. I did this for a while, meanwhile, the tissue in my other hand was squished and as I tried to pull it apart to make it large enough, nada...... just disintegrated paper strips. Oh well, I tried my best to wipe all the wet stuff sliding down my face from every open orifice (well, maybe not my mouth). So, I finally went back in and offered my squished TP (that would shred when pulled), to my DH. He declined. I decided to not pray out loud for fear of another attack.
When the Rosary was over, we got up to join DH's family. TG they had TISSUES!!! And, even gave me a whole packet! My SIL even brushed some shredded TP from my blouse. DH told her about the TP. A little laughter on the scene. Afterwards, DH and daughter left and had dinner. It was nice to catch up with her. It was a nice dinner. Exhausted, we went home and went to bed so we could do it all over again the next day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day (Thursday) was the funeral mass. Matt would later be placed in a Mausoleum, with immediate family attending only. The mass was just as traumatic, except I remembered to bring tissues. Yea, for that. The church was packed! Matt had made an impact on so very many people.
Afterwards, all were invited to join the family for dinner at one of Matt's restaurants.
We ate, then walked around visiting with family members we never see.
I went to find Aunt Janie (Matt's mom). I sat with her and we had a long tearful talk, while others were watching a slide show of Matt's life in the background. Aunt Janie lost her husband about 4 years ago. Now she lives alone, but is financially secure to have staff and a nurse come twice a week to check on her. She is about 80yrs.
She begged me to come and visit her. I promised I would. So, I will, on my next trip to Austin, which is in April, for 2 weeks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We stayed to visit with our daughter, and some long time friends (Godparents to daughter) joined us for dinner that same night, for our 32nd wedding anniversary. We came home on Saturday. WHEW! Glad to be home.

A little bit of Humor

Subject: drinking

Two married buddies are out drinking one St Patrick's night, when one turns to the other and says, "You know, I don't know what else to do. Whenever I go home after we've been out drinking, I turn the headlights off before I get to the driveway. I shut off the engine and coast into the garage. Take my shoes off before I go into the house, I sneak up the stairs, get undressed in the bathroom, stick my foot in the toilet and pee down my leg to prevent splashing sounds. I ease into bed and my wife STILL wakes Up, and yells at me for staying out so late!
"His buddy looks at him and says "Well, you're obviously taking the wrong approach. I screech into the driveway, slam the door, storm up the steps, pee hard into the toilet water, then use the full flush,throw my shoes in the closet, undress in the bedroom,then jump into bed, slap her on the ass and say!, WHO'S HORNY????!!!" and she acts like she's sound asleep. It Works Every Time!

Out of Commission for next week

As they say.... life goes on, but we will miss Matt. My DH's cousin passed away this week. DH and Matt were very close when they were little. As they grew up and moved out of town (opposite directions), they kept in touch mainly by telephone, and Matt and his wife would come to Port Aransas where we would get together in the summers.
We will be going to Dallas for the Rosary and Funeral. So far DH is ok. But, I bet it will hit him when he gets there. I'll try to be as much help to the family as possible.
Well, I'll get back to blogging week after next.

Matt Martinez Jr.: Proudly raised the Tex-Mex banner
12:00 AM CDT on Sunday, March 15, 2009
By ERIC AASEN and JOE SIMNACHER / The Dallas Morning News / The Dallas Morning News Matthew Haag contributed to this report.
Matt Martinez Jr., the colorful and charismatic restaurateur who injected his own culinary flair into his family's Tex-Mex legacy, died Friday night of complications from cancer. He was 63.
In Dallas, Mr. Martinez was best known for his Matt's Rancho Martinez, a popular Lakewood eatery.
Mr. Martinez's family first opened up Tex-Mex restaurants in Austin in the 1920s. He brought his family's food to Dallas in the mid-1980s.
Along the way, he launched restaurants that earned rave reviews, wrote books, appeared on television shows, served his food to presidents, met myriad celebrities and became friends with Julia Child.
"It's a sad, sad day for Tex-Mex," said Robb Walsh, the Texas food writer who has authored books about the regional cuisine. "He was the guy who took the Tex-Mex banner and raised it up and said, 'This is what we do, and we're proud of it.' "
Mr. Martinez was instrumental in helping to jazz up the reputation of Tex-Mex, a term first used as a put-down by critics who sought to differentiate Mexican cuisine from Americanized foods like nachos, Mr. Walsh said.
"Matt was the first member of a Tex-Mex dynasty to say, 'OK, if this is what they're going to call what we cook, then, by God, let's make this the most popular food on the planet.' "
Estella Martinez said her husband expanded on one of the state's oldest Tex-Mex dynasties.
"He always said he took a poor man's meal and made it good enough so that anyone in any walk of life could enjoy it," she said. "I think he took Tex-Mex to another level."
Austin family
Mr. Martinez was born in Austin, where his grandfather sold tamales on the Capitol steps and in 1925 opened one of the first Tex-Mex restaurants in Austin.
His father opened Matt's El Rancho in Austin in 1952.
In the late '60s or early '70s, former Texas Land Commissioner Bob Armstrong asked "Little Matt" to make an appetizer. He wanted "something not on the menu," Mr.! Martine z recalled in the 2006 cookbook MexTex: Traditional Tex-Mex Taste.
So Mr. Martinez hurriedly mixed together some taco meat, guacamole and sour cream, pouring chile con queso over it and threw it in the oven.
Mr. Armstrong spread the word on how good the dish was, and the Bob Armstrong Dip became Mr. Martinez's most famous appetizer.
At Matt's Rancho Martinez, every recipe had to have Mr. Martinez's stamp of approval before it went on the menu, said Lorenzo Rodallegas, the restaurant's general manager.
Mr. Martinez was friendly and especially loved to talk with kids who ate at his restaurant.
"From the minute he walked in, at least three or four customers knew him and would talk to him," Mr. Rodallegas said.
Mr. Martinez was likable because he made people feel comfortable, said Mark Davis, a photographer who worked with the restaurateur on MexTex.
"Even if he didn't know you, he treated you as if you were an old friend," he said. "He would walk up to a stranger and strike up a conversation."
At the restaurant, one wall is covered with a mural of famous people, including Elvis. The mustachioed Mr. Martinez is front and center, wearing a shirt made out of the Texas state flag. His hands are held outward.
On another wall: a picture of Julia Child.
He introduced her to chicken-fried steak during a visit to one of his restaurants. They became "fast friends," and they even downed drinks in San Antonio together, Mrs. Martinez said.
In the 1960s, when the Martinez family was catering a meal at President Lyndon Johnson's ranch, Mr. Martinez, then about 18, joined the president for a drink. Mr. Johnson poured some Jack Daniels. The kid drank it straight -- and winced.
"You know, son, when I first started, I had to put a little Coke in it," the president told him.
Knowing famous people was fun, but Mr. Martinez especially valued the time spent serving customers. He also loved to hunt and fish.
Didn't complain
In 2003, Mr. Martinez! had sur gery to remove a cancerous kidney. He told his children that everything was fine.
But the renal cancer eventually returned, spreading throughout his body.
Only last year did he tell his children about the severity of the illness.
"He was always a cowboy, somewhat of a maverick," said his son, Matt Martinez III. "It wasn't his way to complain."
In November, doctors found more tumors in his brain stem and spinal column. He entered hospice last week.
Earlier this month, Mr. Martinez and his wife celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and renewed their vows.
"I wouldn't trade that for anything," Mrs. Martinez said. "He was weeping and so was I."
In addition to his wife and son Matt III, Mr. Martinez is survived by sons Joaquin Miguel Martinez of Garland and Jesse Garcia Martinez of Dallas; daughter Christine Nicole Lopez of Garland; sisters Gloria Marie Reyna, Cecilia Ann Muela and Cathy Krietz, all of Austin; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Viewings will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas; and from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave., Dallas.
A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday, both at St. Thomas Aquinas.
Memorials in Mr. Martinez's name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105 and Covenant House Texas, 1111 Lovett Blvd., Houston, Texas 77006.

FINALLY - Something to smile about

Well, most of you know that my kitchen flooded 2 days ago. DH finally came home (from out of town), yesterday and turned off the faucet in the back of the fridge. Y'all know all that gunk that comes out from behind your fridge? Ok, it was gross.

While going through the stuff that had fallen in back of the fridge, DH came across something very cool. He found an envelope, so he opened it. In there was a letter from Jeffrey, thanking us for some $ we had given him. It has no date on it, so we are guessing his age. As usual..... DH and I are thinking from the opposite ends of the spectrum re his age. LOL So, we stopped guessing before we got in a tiff. lol

Sadly, the water had wiped out some 0f the writing, as it sat in water for a whole day & night. I've scanned it and tried to make the invisible letters more clear. Here it is.

If y'all cannot read the writing, here is what it says:

"Hello, I'm just writing to say Thank you

for the $25 and to see how ya'll were doing.

Good Buy

I love yall

From

Jeff"

What a sweet, loving note to find in an otherwise gloomy day. Jeffrey always signed his notes with a skateboard drawn underneath his notes. Sometimes, he would add a stick figure skateboarding. :)

Jeffrey's Marker Is Defiled

My DH and I went to visit Jeffrey's place the other day. What we found was devastating. Someone had tried to dig up Jeffrey's Marker! There was dirt piles every where. There were signs where someone had tried to lift it on one side, and instead, left the marker chipped.
On one side, they had dug almost all the way down to the end of the marker about 10 inches down in the earth! There was also some kind of liquid spilt and stained the white lettering. The Metal spray of red roses that was at the top of the Marker was all bent up and thrown back a few feet.

We immediately called the funeral home's office and spoke to the director and he met us at Jeffrey's place. He was just as mortified as we were. He said that he would have his staff reset the Marker and would talk to his boss to try and figure out something so this would never happen again. He said that they are not responsible for the damage to the Marker unless it is caused by their staff.

I'm to call him Monday and find out the result of their conversation of how this could have happened, and how to keep this from happening again!

Why would a person do this? What kind of person wants to defile something so sacred? It's sacred to me. I can't imagine why they would pick Jeffrey's marker. It is designed with what we thought Jeffrey would like. The marker is Black Granite, with a white skateboarder skating upwards (like skating up a half-pipe). Jeffrey's name and dates are on the other side (in white - all the white is intended, not raised), with his picture underneath. I don't get it. It makes me sick.

I will find out more after I speak to the director, and then try to clean it up. The liquid spilled on the skateboarder is dark. DH thinks it is oil. I don't know what it is.

I don't figure that they/we will ever know who did this. I hope they can come up with a solution to beef up the security. :-(

Flooding

Today was a day to go visit FW. I had everything packed (I always take lots of stuff - there is always something to take over there - especially for my/our kids!); anyway, as I walked into the kitchen to grab my purse and bags to go, I noticed that the kitchen floor was moving! IT WAS FLOODING!! Water was moving like an ocean, wave after wave, after wave!
I could hear a sound coming from the fridge! OH NO! What the heck was I gonna do? I called DH, of course. Cuz, I don't know nothing 'bout birthing babies -- oh wait -- that's for another time. I have no clue how to turn off this water, which the noise seems to be coming from the fridge.
When I called DH, he was in a meeting (out of town of course); I told him this was an emergency. So, he told me to go outside to the front and turn off a certain copper faucet. So I did and ran back inside and it was still going! So, then he tells me to go to the garage and describes to me where the handle is that he wants me to turn off. So, I do, and run back in the kitchen to see if the water was still going, and I heard no sound coming from fridge, so Whew! The water had stopped flowing.
[Now, I know that my first thought would be to move the fridge and get behind it, but I have a bad back, so that was out of the question.]
So, the next step was to call FW and tell her what had happened and that I would be late getting over there. POOH...... Now, I needed to soak up all the water on the floor with all the beach/large towels I could find! What a chore! There were 2 kitchen rugs that were in there, so they took on a lot of water and were heavy!
After soaking up the water, I put the towels and rugs in the kitchen sink, planning to deal with it later when I got back from my visit, and not looking forward to it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, after the visit and time to go, I've packed up all my bags and some hot chili that FW had just made, with kids in tow to walk me out to my truck, in the cold and drizzling rain. So we open the door to the garage, and BAM! I trip over the step and fall on my knees! OUCH! Crash goes the good hot food I was carrying, and glass shatters everywhere! First thing (besides to get up w/FW's help) was to keep the kids away from the glass. Now, I have bruises on my left knee and both my hips (don't ask me how that is - lol); and hurt most is my right knee that is swollen and scratched.
Oh, FW was so concerned and worried that I was hurt worse than I was. Once I was up & ok, she then ran back to the kitchen to pack up some more hot dinner!
MAN, What a day I had!!!!!!!! Thank Goodness for my BFF, that she was there for me, again! (And, the chile was fantastic!!!!!!!!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, DH finished up meetings late, so he's staying the night. That means I can stay up and play on the computer as late as this wine I'm drinking will let me!
Hope all had a day better than mine! (Oh, except for the visit, the visit was GREAT!)

Monday, March 9, 2009

Hello out there. February was a long month, for me anyway. In between getting the house cleaned up & ready for visitors we (FW & I) had lots to do. FW suggested we make the invitations, and I loved that idea! We put our heads together and made many trips to Hobby Lobby, and came up with a super looking invitation! One that would make Jeffrey proud. Everyone loved the invitations and were impressed!

Well, all of the women/girls! All that the boys read on the invitation, was B&J's Pizza and 7:00 p.m, Most of the boys went to the wrong pizza place, until one of the mothers spoke to a couple of the boys and told them to spread the word, that the party was at the newer loaction!

LOL Only 4 of the boys ended up at the other B&J's, then eventually came to the party.
I bought Transformer plates for the cake. Jeffrey collected most of the superhero figures, the ones to put in a case for show. He also has a large collection of comic books, as most of his friends do. So, I thought they would love them! Well, the plates made them laugh. LOL I also made copies of a picture to pass out to his friends ( It's the one I have on here with Jeffrey sitting with his friends holding their skateboards.) We had a super turnout! There were about 25 people there.
Speaking of cakes! FW made two cakes for us! One for my DH's birthday on the 27th, and one for the party! They were pinapple upside down cakes. My DH and Jeffrey's favorite cake! All I can say is YUM-YUM!! And, she made them from scratch!!! Much thanks to my BFF. :)
One of the boy's Mr. T insisted that he bring something to the party. So, since I had told him that I was going to order another flavored cake, he said that he would have his sister make a cake. So, he had her make my favorite cake: Chocolate Fudge! It was very yummy too! Both of the cakes were finished quickly! Luckily, we still had some of DH's cake at home!
All of us were able to talk to everyone there and reminisce about Jeffrey. It was a sad, but joyous occasion to remember Jeffrey and the wonderful person he was; we even swapped funny stories about situations Jeffrey and some of his friends had gotten into. Most of the girls cried while talking about Jeffrey to me, my DH and my daughter. There were lots of hugs and tears.

One of Jeffrey's dear girlfriends is getting married in June. She was so upset that Jeffrey would not be here to be her best man. Yes, her fiance would allow that. He's a great guy.
I blew up a picture of Jeffrey and had it on one of the tables, everyone loved the picture. Luckily, there are so many pictures, not all of his friends have seen them all, or us, for that matter.

One of Jeffrey's long time high school sweethearts remembered some pictures she had, so she shared them with us on MySpace. There were 18 pictures!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!
Since the pictures were new to us, he seemed so real, so alive, and ready to pop out of that picture so we could hear his voice and feel his big hugs. He looked so happy in all of them. He looked great!
The party lasted longer than I thought it might, which I thought was wonderful! We were there for 4 hours! We left just as the place was closing up! We had a great time, everyone did. I will try to get a picture of the invitation in here. And, now I can finally read all of the blogs that I missed. I hope y'all are doing great.
