Last night was a scary one for me and The Teacher. My sweetie called me crying, at 1:00 a.m. (luckily, I was still awake), that she was in severe pain! She was pretty sure it was her kidneys and she wondered if she should go to the ER, but she was in so much pain that she didn't know what to do and was scared. The problem was that her roomie is out of town, all her friends live at least an hour away, and she had no one to take her; and she doesn't know anyone in the neighborhood.
~~~~~~After talking to her regarding her symptoms, etc., I suggested she call her Dr's office and that answering service would pick up, then they would have the Dr. "on call" call her back so they could discuss how severe it might be and if she should call an ambulance, or if she thought it would be ok to drive herself. Stupid Dr. only had an answering machine and several options: push 1 if your sick... blah blah blah.... stupid Dr's office!
~~~~~~~So, Sweetie called me back and I stayed on the phone while she got dressed to drive to the ER. That in itself was very difficult and painful! I felt so helpless! I wanted her to put her phone head set on so I could be right there with her in the car, but she didn't know where her head set was, so she said she would call me when she got there.
~~~~~~~Luckily, the ER wasn't far. She called me while at the ER so I could be there with her after she registered, etc. She was right. Both of her kidneys had an infection! So, they started her on an IV. It was gonna be a late night (so to speak).
At about 4:00 a.m., she told me to go to bed, as she would probably be there for a good while.
So, I made her promise not to drive if she was groggy, then went to bed.
I found a text from my Sweetie when I woke. She said she had left the hospital at 5:30a.m., and that she had to pick up her prescription, then she was going home to bed.
~~~~~~~After talking to her this afternoon, and this evening, she sounded so much better, and said that she only had some pain that wasn't too bad.
~~~~~~~I hate it that we are so far away from her! We are 7 Hrs away from her. I wish her prince charming would come around already and marry her! That way, she'd have someone to take care of her when she needs help.
~~~~~~What a scary night.

Oh wow, but God love you as a mother to stay with her (and advise her) Exactly what she needed!
Yeah, where is that prince? The witch has him distracted... The Teacher is a true Princess!
And, we need lil'baby princess' and princes around
:-)
Poor sweet, Girl. I'm glad to hear that she is doing better. *sigh* Why does she have to live so far, FAR away?
ILY!
Thanks Pro. I wonder sometimes.
YES! Want the pitter patter of tiny royal feet! ILY too FW!
Oh gosh... It's so hard to be far away from your daughter. We have the same feeling since we live in Hawaii and our daughter is in Illinois. Thank goodness your daughter got to the ER safely and was able to be treated. you're a wonderful mother. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Prince Charming.
Kay: Thank you for the compliment. I think I am a good mom. And, I've been told repeatedly by my son's friends. It helps. Yes, Prince Charming... Where are you????
Kay: I forgot to acknowledge that your daughter is far away from you as well (further than my daughter); gosh, that's gotta be tough!
I know what you mean.. I hated being that far from the Princess..
We were on the phone the night OC stopped breathing.. it was the scariest thing I've ever been through.. I wanted to be on the phone with her but knew she was on the phone with the 911 center...
You just feel so helpless... glad.. like with us.. it all turned out ok..
Hope she is feeling better..
Thanks Queen. Yes, she is feeling much better.
