BITCH SESSION: Yesterday was a BAD day! All due to this cute little puppy! I haven't been taking her for a walk cuz it's too dang HOT! DH takes her out in the evening. SO, I have to put up with her "hyperness" all day!
Even though, I take her out at least 4-5 times a day to run around in the back yard and to go pottie, all she wants to do is jump on me, pull on my shorts, or skirt, and claw & bite me! Sometimes she will only go wewe, and save the stinky stuff for my carpet!
I try to catch her when she walks to the front rooms (where we frequent least); and by the time I realize she is gone, it's too late! So, I go clean up poop and pee (yes - she likes to do both on carpet). I swear, she has a hole in her that water runs thru the minute after she drinks water!!
What's up with that??!! The MINUTE she finishes drinking???
So Yesterday, I was ready to drive her to my daughter's home out of town and drop her off, so I wouldn't kill her first. (aw - y'all know I'd never do that - I just felt like doing it!!).
Piper went to the front room and started chewing dried flowers off of the skateboard that the florist made for my son's Rosary, with his nickname "Jeph" on the skateboard. I've had it up front with some of his pictures. I was so upset, I moved the skateboard to Jeffrey's bedroom and almost left her outside (it was cool and cloudy); but she kept throwing herself at the kitchen door!
And, that's another thing. I am no longer able to keep Jeffrey's bedroom door open so I can see in it as I walk by, and/or walk into to look at his things; and listen to his music/stereo that I turn on everyday. That makes me sad.
When I take Piper out, she eats my plants!!! Don't know how to get her to stop except to yell at her, and move them. Of course, once she gets bigger, she will be able to reach them.
I put her in her kennel when she would not stop jumping on me, while I was sitting on recliner and scratching my legs, arms and the chair. I fear she has mangled some of the upholstry. I checked on her after a while in the kennel, and she was eating the new pad we put in her brand new HUGE kennel. Bits and pieces were everywhere! AAAGGGHHH!!!!
We went to PetsMart to spend tons of $$$ on doggie stuff to keep her safe and entertained! $$ down the drain.
I even bought pottie pads to begin to train her since the bell on the door only works sometimes.
Well, I put the pad down... and just guess.... She started chewing the pad!!
Then, she found a large roach bait that was hidden in a corner, so we forgot about it. She was chewing it. ***SIGH....***
Ok, all done. Thanks for listening.
PS: Anybody want a super cute Boxer puppy?

oh no! :(
Reading your post reminded me so much of when our Jack Russell/Min Pin "BuddyTheElf" (from the hilarious movie "Elf"!)was very little. I begged my family to give the puppy to someone else better suited than I was. Of course we didn't. But one day, Buddy just behaved fairly well, and then the next day, and so on and so forth. I know its hard to train puppies but the reward is great. I hope Piper settles in and keeps you nice and warm as she snuggles. So pleased to "meet" you and will check back in often.
Yeah Gary.... Oh NO!!
Cheryl/Ashton: nice to meet you too! I love The Elf movie! Great name for your doggie.
This reminds me of that movie Marley and Me with Jennifer Anniston and Owen Wilson. I believe the book is supposed to be really great. I can already tell how much you love that little puppy.
Kay: OH YEAH!! I forgot about that book! Altho, I didn't read the book, but did see the movie! I'm just glad Piper is NOT that big!
Love the pup???.... Hmmm..... :)
Well, you know we aren't allowed to have indoor pets at our house (the guinea was a BIIIIIII-iiiiig give/compromise on Hubster's part). So, I can't take her from ya.
But, she IS a puppy. Did y'all get her little rope toys to chase and chew? And, maybe a few raw hides to chew while she's kenneled? Just don't get those beef flavored/colored ones. Or else, your carpet will really be stained.
For the plants, look online for a recipe of tobasco or something you can sprits on the plants. A chew or two of that and she won't touch them again.
:-D
I just remembered that we got BuddyTheElf a kong to chew on. They come in various sizes and have one for puppies. We put peanut butter into it (Buddy has his own jar, you can imagine why, no one here wants to double-dip)and he would spend hours working on the kong to get out all the peanut butter. We pushed it as far down into the kong so he really had to work at it. But it really helped cut down on the chewing...I would run it through the dishwasher every so often to clean it. He is almost 4 years old now and is only on his second kong, thats how durable they are. Give that a try.
*Loving* our 13-year-old Andy now. :-)
But he had his fun things when younger -- loved to shred paper towels, and I will tell you sometime about the Christmas Eve when I came home and he had gone through 20 Hershey Kisses. Nothing like an 8 pound dog on a sugar high.
FW: Will have to look for something like that- hotsauce spritzer! lol
Cheryl: Wow, that's a great idea! Would you believe that I bought one already? My daughter used it to train her yorkie to run to the kennel when they were leaving the house!
I never thought to use it the way you suggested! The one I bought, I grabbed without looking at thoroughly cuz chkout was waiting for me, and I bought the one with a rope for dogs to chase in the pool. So, I'll go exchange it and use it on a daily basis! THANKS!
PRO: Wow!! I thought chocolate was deadly to dogs!! So glad your pup was ok! Piper IS on a sugar high w/o sugar! LOL So, yes, I can imagine! Poor you!
Boxers need a LOT of attention and exercise. They are marvelous dogs! She's a real beauty!
Sil: Thank you! She is darn cute! But, so active! Love her just the same. :)
