New Years Eve

We had a very nice New Years Eve! We went to my BFF's home (farmer's wife); and we had some Yummy appetizers, which were enough for a meal! And, we played with Lil Gal and Farmer Jr.

The men were in the kitchen talking "men" stuff, and FW, Lil Bro and I sat around the table and told stories, and then the men joined us. Some interesting stories! We had some laughs and Champagne (men had beer - go figure?), and even shot some fireworks!

It was a chilly night, so we tried to stay close to the garage where the wind was blocked, as the children (as we kept calling to the children to move away.... get back, get back...) and the Boys braved the cold at the end of the driveway to entertain us! Sweet boys! Whew! It was windy and a chilly 54 degrees (around there).

After we were out of fireworks, we went to the front porch and watched everyone else's fireworks, and there were a LOT! We even saw someone catch something on fire! It must have been a shed or something, cuz it was a large fire, and we were a few miles away! Luckily for them, it was put out after a while.

Then midnight came and we finished off the Champagne, said good night, and traveled the country roads home watching more fireworks. Nice. (Oh, we did keep a look out for a sheriff's car!). But, DH usually is the designated driver, so we really didn't have a problem.

When we arrived home, I watched some "soaps" I had missed the previous 2 days cuz we were out of town (I'm so tired of going out of town!); and DH promptly fell asleep in the chair, then went to bed. I made it to bed about 2 a.m.

So, it was a fun relaxing night. Not like the nights we used to have in our 20s! HaHa, now those were some crazy but fun times!

I hope everyone had a fun relaxing time (except for the ones in their 20s!) LOL!!
